On September 16th, in order to strengthen the promotion of the UN Conference on Women's Human Rights, the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and the Beijing Peace Garden Museum jointly organized a women's human rights themed event that looked at the present from history and the world from the east. Through the concise and relaxed form of appreciating the opera "Wisteria Blossom" combined with the speech of the Director of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the necessary relationship between women's rights and social harmonious development is deconstructed and interpreted.
Li Ruohong, Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation and President of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, first introduced the significance of such an arrangement to everyone, and also proposed that combining the form of the Peace Garden Museum's music salon would more vividly and effectively spread cultural concepts. Director of the Special Procedures and Development Division of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, H.E.Ms.Peggy Hicks proposed in her video speech that gender equality is the cornerstone of a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. This fact was recognized in the 1995 Beijing Declaration, and widespread action to eliminate various obstacles is the key to achieving sustainable economic development.
