On the morning of June 3rd ,2021, the cycling event of "World Bicycle Day" sponsored by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in China, China World Peace Foundation and Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation was held in Beijing Peace Garden Museum , and the theme was "Celebrating World Bicycle Day—Health and Connectivity in the Year of International Peace and Trust".

Mr. Emin ONEN, Jamaican Ambassador to China H.E. Mr.Antonia Hugh, Namibian Ambassador to China H.E. Mr. Glia G.Kaiyamo, Sri Lanka Ambassador to China, H.E. Mr. Palitha Kohona ,Bangladesh Ambassador to China,H.E. Mr. Mahbub Uz Zaman , attended the event. More than 100 guests of envoys, missions, business circles and youth representatives from 26 countries including Armenian, Kyrgyzstan, Austrian, Sudan, Cameroon, Ukraine, Mongolia, France, Pakistan, Tajikistan attended the celebration.

In his speech, Turkmenistan's Ambassador to China, H.E.Mr.Parakhat H.Durdyev, said that the "World Bicycle Day" initiative has won the support of 56 countries. He praised "the uniqueness, life span and use of bicycles", which is a simple, economic, reliable, clean, environmental and sustainable mode of transportation. With these powerful characteristics, it attracts all of us. The China World Peace Foundation is our long tested partner. They promote the cultural agenda of peace, cooperation, exchange and communication of trust and mutual understanding in their own creative ways.

In his speech, Dr. Li Ruohong, President of the China World Peace Foundation and President of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation , said that on June 3rd , 2020, we gathered here to have jointly held the "Great World Bicycle Day on the Silk Road" cycling activity with Turkmenistan, the founder of this event, with the theme of "Peace, Trust and Solidarity".Envoys from 15 countries and representatives of the China Foreign Affairs Ministry and SCO participated in that event. During that event, all countries signed the "peace initiative" to jointly build "peace, trust, solidarity, greenness, civilization, inclusiveness and sharing". This not only promoted the green action of energy conservation, environmental protection and sustainability, but also shared the medical and health knowledge amid the anti epidemic period with all of us. We also received anti epidemic first aid kits. Last year’s event has not only been highly praised by the international community, but also will become a sustainable development project with multilateral international cooperation.
The theme of this year's event is "Health and Connectivity". Facing the severe challenge is a challenge of Covid-19 pandemic,countries and regions need political solidarity, economic and social cooperation, and the spirit of the silk road to promote connectivity and people need our peaceful public welfare action.

H.E. Dr.Shahbaz Khan, director of UNESCO Beijing office, noted that seemingly simple bicycles contributed to human health and well-being, social inclusion and peace building, climate action , health and environmental education, all of which are closely related to the goals of sustainable development and the mandate of UNESCO,which is especially amid the period of COVID-19 pandemic. Albert Einstein once said, "life is like riding a bicycle. To keep balance, you have to move on.”
It is worth noting that the host said in his speech that it is of special significance to hold the event to celebrate world bicycle day on the occasion of the 100 anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the proposal by China to strengthen its international communication capacity.
The children riders of Beijing Ethan Club
Envoys from various countries in China held recreational cycling and professional balance inertia distance riding competitions respectively. Children from Beijing Ethan Club also brought wonderful balanced car performances, which won applause from the guests.
