On the morning of May 28, China World Peace Foundation,Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and Chinese Tea Culture Popularizing Fund（CTCPF） jointly held the "Shennong Selection International Tea Culture Fair" in Beijing Peace Garden Museum. The theme was "Being Harmonious but Staying Unique, Using Tea for World Peace". More than 30 people,including relevant leaders from Chinese Tea Society,Beijing Cultural Services,Chinese Tea Association and Association of Tea Producing Provinces, envoys&diplomats from Cuba, Maldives, Namibia, Georgia and other countries, gathered together to drink a cup of Chinese tea and talk about Chinese tea culture.
Dr.Li Ruohong, chairman of the China World Peace Foundation and President of Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation , said that there are more than 60 tea producing countries and regions in the world, with a tea drinking population of more than 2 billion. China has a vast territory with a long history of tea planting, tea making and tea tasting. Although China has a large tea production, its export volume only accounts for a small proportion in the world tea trade. The world is drinking tea, but there are few people drinking Chinese tea. Over the past 20 years, provinces and cities have donated innumerable local tea to the Foundations. We present tea to ambassadors' wives,dignitaries' delegation through sports competitions, cultural public welfare,Silk Road tour. Many embassies in China also used Chinese tea as souvenirs in celebration of diplomatic relations and the founding of countries, which mixed tea culture into emotions and made contributions to international exchanges.
Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation is a public fund raising Foundation dedicated to world peace and multicultural exchanges. We hope to establish a platform, a brand, a model, a circle of friends and a foundation as the basic form to have a sustainable development situation with domestic and international double circulation, online and offline interaction, government support, media attention, enterprise cooperation and international consensus. This is a peaceful and public welfare cause of strengthening the country through culture and revitalizing agriculture.
Tea originated in China and prevailed in the world. The establishment of "International Tea Day" by the United Nations on May 21, 2020 reflects the recognition and attention of the international community to the value of tea. Tea culture belongs to all mankind, which is especially important amid the covid-19 pandemic . Being harmonious but staying unique, we hope that the value chain of tea industry can make a systematic contribution in the domestic and international double circulation and benefit the world.
In 2021, CTCPF will carry out two main tasks: the production of "Shennong Selection · collection of Chinese tea people" and the First International Tea Fair of Shennong Selection Tea Culture.
Though the power is small, it will become greater by following the people. The dream of Chinese tea shouldered by CTCPF is the dream shared by all Chinese tea people. It is not only the revival of the glory of Chinese tea in the past, but also the return and promotion of the cultural confidence of the Chinese nation. It is also the re export and dissemination of the spirit of Chinese
traditional culture to the world with tea as the carrier. Chinese tea will become China's emissary to show the world Chinese "Peace" culture and convey China's sincerity of peace to the world.
