On the afternoon of April 20, Dr. Li Ruohong, President of the Foundation, held video talks with Mr.Osmo Vatres, President of the Balkan Peace Club, discussing “Silk Roads”cultural interaction and cooperation to promote the peaceful economic and social development of China and the Balkan Area.

Mr.Osmo Vatres said that China not only occupies an important international position geographically, but also has great influence in politics, economy and culture. It is very important for European youth to understand China and learn Chinese culture for future world peace. The Balkan Peace Club will launch the Caravan of Peace project this year, aiming to retrace the Silk Road and build a new bridge for China EU cooperation and exchanges. At the same time, Osman said that the project is open to all forms of cooperation in the future.

Dr. Li Ruohong said that Europe is an important partner of China. Since 2017, the Foundation and UNESCO have been committed to promoting “Silk Roads”cultural interaction, and the peace public welfare projects in its ten major sectors have been highly praised by the international community. This year, we will continue to launch the "World Bicycle Day"Event, the eighth "Peace Garden Peace Festival "Event, the third "Silk Road in the Eyes of Young People" International Photography Competition and other events popular with multilateral countries.

Both sides agreed that in the post epidemic era, the economic, technological, social and cultural exchanges between China and the EU are necessary and important. Different forms of interaction can be supported through sports, art and culture. Both sides will further communicate on Peace Operations.
