On May 18th,2020 Belt & Road Collaboration & Future International Webinar was held in Beijing Peace Garden Museum. The Webinar aims to strengthen international cooperation, achieve sustainable development and promote harmonious exchanges among civilizations and cultures through dialogues and communications. Political figures, officials, envoys, representatives of science, technology and culture from 18 countries, including representatives from the Arabian , the African ,the Caribbean regions and the SCO, attended the Webinar.
Dr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation and President of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, said in his speech that in the global epidemic, different countries and regions are facing the challenges of public health and economic&social security. By way of "Peace +1" and "Belt&Road", we ,all peace loving people ,will achieve the great role of responsibility in realizing the cooperation and benefit of people's livelihood in cultural diversity.
Former Egyptian PM,H.E.Mr. Essam Sharaf said that the world is facing unprecedented challenges and must work together through the global cooperation mechanism. The "Belt&Road" initiative has successfully become an effective platform for international cooperation.
Mr.Xu Qiang, Secretary General of the Beijing NGO Network Association for international exchanges, said that governments play a key role in the process of maintaining peace and global governance. At the same time, there is a need for a strong power that can make non-governmental organizations and the general public shoulder their responsibilities, enhance understanding among peoples, and promote economic and social development of all countries. During this process, NGOs can help the government to do a lot of work for social stability and grass-roots services. NGOs should establish certain institutions and mechanisms to assure its function. We should establish a network which connects us with each other. This network could help NOGs to facilitate understanding and seek possible projects for cooperation.
Cuban Ambassador to China,H.E.Mr.Carlos Miguel Pereira Hernández pointed out that Covid -19 is a global challenge, anti-epidemic must be globalized and transcend political differences. Cuba and China work together to support the fight against the epidemic, and in this context, to strengthen cooperation, help each other and share experience.
Turkmen ambassador to China H.E.Mr.Parakhat Hommadovich Durdyev said that China and Turkmenistan have a history of exchanges for thousands of years through the silk road. In recent years, Sino-Turkmenistan relations have developed along the track of healthy and stable development, and mutual political trust has been continuously strengthened. We firmly believe that the two countries will further strengthen their strategic partnership to benefit the two countries and their peoples.
Mr. Kang Jincheng, former director of International Department of China Academy of Engineering, said that the friendly relations and technological cooperation between Egypt and China have a long history. When the global scientific and technological community and all mankind join hands and shoulder together to tackle the new common enemy of Covid-19, it is very timely that this 2020 Belt & Road Collaboration & Future International Webinar sponsored by Egypt and China is held today. This can work as a fine example of Sino-Arab friendship and scientific cooperation.
Mr.Wu Fugui, an expert on China's Middle East issues, believes that working together in prosperity and supporting each other in adversity are the common excellent genes of Chinese civilization and world civilization. Anti epidemic experience is the common wealth of mankind. China has made contributions to the global anti epidemic. Only by strengthening international cooperation in an all-round way and uniting strong forces to defeat the epidemic can we win the fight against Covid-19.
The event coincided next with the national disability day, during which Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation and Guangdong Hebei Chamber of Commerce jointly donated a number of digital radios to special groups in Cuba.
