teachers and students from University of Victoria, Switzerland conduct a dialogue in Peace Garden
On Dec 1st, Chairman Li Ruohong of China World Peace Foundation invited Professor Huang Limin, Assistant Principle of University of Alberta and Vice Dean of Business School, and Professor Dai Xulong, vice principal of University of Victoria, Switzerland to Peace Garden. They tasted tea together and shared their respective academic achievements in educational field. They also made discussion on the school running experience and gap of talents in Canada, USA, UK, France, Switzerland, Netherland, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and other counties. Analyzing from the aspect of education system, teachers, funds, source of students, environments, employment, contribution to the society and economy, and knowledge innovation, an educational competitiveness was made between China and developed countries. The discussion also involved how to conduct universal education and public welfare education. The professors pointed out that, China has a sound basis for education. During the further reform and opening up, we should pay a reconsideration of educational structure and education value, and strengthen the efforts to promote economic development and human lives. The level of education is related to civil social responsibilities and the application of educational resources will exert influence on cultural cognition and international attraction.
At the end of tea ceremony, professor Li Ruohong, Huang Limin and Dai Xulong expressed their common wish that China World Peace Foundation’s efforts in advancing peace and education would better the cooperation between universities in Canada and Switzerland. At the meanwhile, the expert forums and overseas student dialogue projects should be continued to integrate resources, expand education alliance, rich research topics with civil strengths and interactions, as well as make contributions in the new period and opportunities for education development in China.
