Scenario of China-Korea Economic Cooperation Meeting
On Nov 28th, in the company of Chairman Li Ruohong of China World Peace Foundation, Chief Commissioner Lee Zhuyong of Joint Venture Investment Commission of North Korea visited Peace Garden. The delegation looked around Jingdezhen Ceramics Gallery and enjoyed the sight of stone inscriptions written by heads of states, international organizations as well as foreign ambassadors. The two parties held meetings for founding Korea-China Economic and Cultural Exchange Association.
On Nov 30th, China World Peace Foundation and North Korea Joint Venture Investment Commission jointly held the China-Korea economic cooperation meeting. North Korea delegation, as well as representatives from North Korean Embassy to China, Chinese Development and Reform Commission and large State-owned enterprises attended this meeting. At the meeting, both sides agreed to set up Korea-China Economic and Cultural Exchange Association. Chief Commissioner Lee Zhuyong and Chairman Li Ruohong signed the cooperation agreement on this issue. This association would be a non-profit non-governmental institution aiming at coordinating enterprises in the two countries, developing economy and improving people’s lives. It would also make endeavors to promote the cooperation of the two countries in aspects of sightseeing, high-tech industry, finance, agriculture, health care and education. Standing bodies would be set in the capitals of China and North Korea respectively so as to strengthen the daily work of this association.
At the economic cooperation meeting, Chief Commissioner Lee Zhuyong and Economic Counselor Sin Hyo Il introduced many investment projects in details. They also presented the North Korean policies on investment attraction, tax, and foreign exchange.
At the end of this meeting, attendants at both sides believed that Korea-China Economic Cultural Association would be a bridge as well as a friendship messenger for peoples in the two countries
