After attending the MEDays Forum on future international issues and delivering a speech titled Peace and Security Needs NGO on the forum from November 16th to 19th in Tangier, Morocco, CWPF chairman, Mr. Li Ruohong and his delegation paid a friendly visit to Spain from November 20th to 24th at the invitation from relevant departments.
During his inspection of the four cities in southern Spain, Dr. Li Ruohong and his party respectively conducted friendly talks with mayor of Salamanca among others. They expressed optimism towards the prospects for cooperation in fields of culture, education and economy between the two countries as well as their willingness to boost the establishment of friendly ties between Chinese and Spanish cities and multilateral cooperation among enterprises of the two countries. The delegation watched the famous Flamenco Dance and visited the vast pastureland accompanied by a bullfight master, watching the bullfight performance. On November 24th, the delegation, in accompany of Real Madrid Foundation Chairman, visited venues and relevant facilities, acquiring about the management of the Real Madrid Foundation. Both parties expressed their willingness to establish cooperation and promote world peace as well as the public good programs in China and other developing countries via a series of football programs. Chairman Li Ruohong also received Real Madrid souvenirs and a jersey with the signature by the famous soccer star Ronaldo.
Though the visit was short, the friendship is long lasting. During the five day visit, CWPF established partnerships with local governments, representative enterprises and NGOs in Spain, exploring a new way to peace and development for both China and Spanish speaking countries being confronted with challenges from the international security crisis.
